We are delighted and proud to report that David McNaughton, Manager at our award-winning The Hurlet Crematorium gained his ICCM Crematorium Management Diploma with Distinction, and that he was also been awarded the highly prestigious Eickoff Medal at the recent ICCM Learning Convention.
The ICCM Crematorium Management Diploma is the most highly regarded professional qualification within the sector, and such is the depth and scope of the course, that it often takes candidates 3 to 4 years to complete.
Not only did David complete the course in under 3-years, but he did so securing Distinctions for the quality of his research and his work.
And in even more success, David was also awarded the highly prestigious Eickoff Medal, which the ICCM only award to truly exceptional candidates – who have displayed a deep understanding of all aspects of crematorium management, and who have produced consistent distinction level grades across all modules.
David now joins Jennifer Hamilton, Manager of our Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium in the exclusive Eickoff Medal Winners Club – with Jennifer being awarded the medal in 2019. Horizon Cremation is now in the exceptional and privileged position of having two Eickoff Medal winners.
Commenting on his success, David McNaughton said:
“I am absolutely delighted to have completed the ICCM Crematorium Management Diploma and to have been awarded a Distinction for my work.
“To have also been awarded the Eickoff Medal for outstanding achievement was the most perfect way to complete my studies, and I feel both humbled and proud.
“At Horizon, there is a strong culture of encouraging and supporting continuous professional development, and I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to further enhance my professional qualifications.”
Jeremy Hamilton, Director of Horizon Cremation added:
“We are so proud of David for his achievement in not only being awarded the ICCM Crematorium Management Diploma with Distinction, but also for being awarded the highly prestigious Eickoff Medal.
“Investing in and supporting the development of our people across all levels is extremely important to us at Horizon Cremation, and it is so deeply rewarding to see our people excel like David has.”
