Horizon Cremation | TCV Partnership
Growing a lasting legacy
Horizon Cremation and The Conservation Volunteers are working together to create new woodland, support biodiversity and leave a positive environmental legacy through a tree planted for every funeral service.
One service. One tree.
One lasting legacy.
Each service at the three participating crematoria directly supports tree planting through TCV’s I Dig Trees programme.
The partnership
Horizon Cremation partners with TCV
Horizon Cremation has announced a new partnership with The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) that will see a tree planted for every funeral service held at Cannock Chase Crematorium, South Leicester Crematorium and Kirkleatham Memorial Park and Crematorium.
The initiative forms part of Horizon Cremation’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and represents another significant step in the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
Through TCV’s nationally recognised I Dig Trees programme, every service held at the three crematoria will contribute towards the creation of new woodland, increased biodiversity and long-term carbon capture across the UK.
The partnership enables every family to leave a lasting environmental legacy in memory of their loved one, helping to create healthier landscapes and more sustainable communities for future generations.
As one of the UK’s leading independent crematorium groups, Horizon Cremation believes exceptional bereavement care and environmental responsibility should go hand in hand. The organisation continues to invest in practical initiatives that reduce its environmental impact while supporting the communities it serves.

Horizon ESG
Measuring our environmental impact
A key element of Horizon’s ESG programme is the publication of its annual ESG Impact Report, which measures environmental performance, tracks the organisation’s carbon footprint and reports on progress made in reducing emissions year on year.
Horizon is believed to be the only crematorium group in the United Kingdom to publish a comprehensive annual ESG Impact Report, reinforcing its commitment to transparency, accountability and continuous improvement across the bereavement sector.
Working together
A partnership rooted in community
The Conservation Volunteers are proud to be partnering with Horizon Cremation through our I Dig Trees programme. Every tree planted through this partnership contributes to a greener, more sustainable future while bringing communities together to create a lasting legacy for future generations.

The Conservation Volunteers
Every funeral is an opportunity to celebrate a life well lived, and through this partnership every service will now help create something that continues to grow long into the future.
By planting a tree for every funeral held at Cannock Chase, South Leicester and Kirkleatham, families are helping to create new woodlands, support wildlife and leave a positive environmental legacy in memory of those they love.
Our annual ESG reporting enables us to measure our environmental impact, monitor our progress and continually improve the way we operate. We are proud to be working with The Conservation Volunteers to turn our environmental commitments into meaningful action and hope this partnership encourages others across the bereavement profession to consider how together we can make a lasting difference.

About
The Conservation Volunteers
Since 1959, The Conservation Volunteers has been a charity creating opportunities for people to create, improve and care for nature in the green spaces around them across the UK.
Its projects cover a wide range of activity involving nature. Volunteers work in parks, community gardens, woodland, sites of special scientific interest, nature reserves, schools and hospital grounds, helping to create a network of protected green space across the UK.
Its flagship I Dig Trees initiative is the largest community-led and corporate-funded tree-planting programme in the UK.
This work connects people with nature, and that connection delivers powerful results.
Our wider tree-planting programme
Building on our partnership with Eadha Enterprises
This initiative builds on Horizon Cremation’s existing partnership with Eadha Enterprises, a Renfrewshire-based not-for-profit social enterprise specialising in native trees and woodland creation. Through that partnership, trees are planted in recognition of funeral services held at Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium and The Hurlet Crematorium, with Baldarroch Crematorium due to join the initiative shortly.
